ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Health

This is a non-vetted show. Every cat that enters the show hall must conform to normally accepted health requirements and be up-to-date on its vaccinations. Front and back claws must be clipped. Cats from households with contagious or infectious illnesses within the last 21 days are ineligible for entry. Cats with suspected contagious or infectious illness or with parasites will be removed from the show hall.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Registration with TICA

For most registered breeds and household pets: With the exception of Korats and new breeds, registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in the cat’s first show, but is required for the 2nd and subsequent shows and for confirmation of championships and TICA regional and international awards. Contact TICA for specific registration procedures.

For Korats and new breeds: According to TICA Show Rule 203.19, all Preliminary New Breeds (PNB) and Advanced New Breeds (ANB) must have a TICA registration number prior to entering any TICA show. No PNB or ANB may enter a show with “registration pending”. Additionally, all Korats must be registered with TICA in order to compete.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Household Pets

Household Pets from 4 to 8 months old are entered in the Household Pet Kitten class and can be either altered or unaltered. Household pet kittens must be 4 calendar months (not 16 weeks) of age to be shown. To compete on both Saturday & Sunday, the kitten must have been born on or before October 9, 2007; to compete on Sunday only, the kitten must have been born on or before October 10, 2007.

All Household Pets over 8 months of age must be altered (neutered or spayed).

Please contact the entry clerk if you are not sure how to describe your cat’s color, or if you have any questions about how to fill out the entry form.

Registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in your cat’s first show, but is required for the 2nd and subsequent shows and for confirmation of championships and TICA regional and international awards. Contact TICA for specific registration procedures.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Co-Owned Cats  images\uparrow.jpg (751 bytes)

Cats co-owned by members of two different households are eligible for the "second" and "third and additional" discounts only if a Xerox copy of the cat’s TICA registration accompanies the cat’s entry. The registration must show the names of both co-owners. (If you are entering such a cat via the Internet, you must fax or mail a Xerox copy of the registration to the entry clerk in order to receive these discounts.)

CAGE SPACE: Cage Size

A single cage is 21" tall, 21" deep, and 21" wide. A double cage is 21" tall, 21" deep, and 45" wide. The top, floor, sides, and back of the cage must be covered. Per TICA rules, only one cat or two kittens per single cage, and two cats or four kittens per double cage. Each entry includes a single cage. If you enter two cats, you get two single cages which can be easily converted into a double cage. To get a double cage for a single entry, you must order and pay for an additional half cage.

CAGE SPACE: Personal Cages

If you want, you can bring your own cage. The following restrictions apply to personal cages:

  • If you plan to use a personal cage for a single entry, you must purchase an extra half cage space, even if your personal cage is a "single cage size". (Single entries are entitled to half of a standard wire double cage. Another exhibitor's cat would normally be benched in the other half of that wire cage. To put up your single personal cage, the wire cage would have to be taken down, leaving no cage to contain the other exhibitor's cat.)

  • Personal cages deeper than 21" will not be permitted. This is because our cages are set on stanchions and 21"-deep plywood, and a cage deeper than 21" will encroach on the space of the exhibitor benched behind you.

  • If your personal cage is wider than 45" (for example, a "Sturdi Triple"), you must purchase enough entries/extra half cages/grooming space to accommodate the additional width.

CAGE SPACE: Exhibition/Sale Cages  images\uparrow.jpg (751 bytes)

Exhibition/sale cages are $40. These are double cages and available to exhibitors only. You must complete an entry form for each kitten or cat for sale or on exhibition; per TICA rules, no cat or kitten will be allowed in the show hall if it is not listed in the catalog. There will be absolutely no sales allowed from carriers.

To be allowed in the show hall for sale or exhibition only, kittens must be 3 calendar months (not 12 weeks) of age. To be allowed in the show hall on both Saturday & Sunday, the kitten must have been born on or before November 9, 2007; to be allowed in the show hall on Sunday only, the kitten must have been born on or before November 10, 2007.

Please be prepared to produce a copy of the TICA litter registration as proof of age. If you cannot produce the litter registration at the show, you will be required to remove the kittens from the show hall. These rules will be strictly enforced.

CAGE SPACE:  Grooming Spaces & Grooming Carts

A grooming space is 21" deep and 45" wide. Grooming spaces are sold on a "space-available" basis: if we run short on benching space, entries will take priority over grooming spaces.  A full refund will be provided for any grooming spaces that must be denied due to lack of space.

Depending on the width of the aisles and how crowded the show becomes, the show management may have to disallow grooming tables or grooming carts that protrude into the aisle.

MISCELLANEOUS: Show Catalogs

One show catalog is included free with your first entry. Additional show catalogs are $5 each; order on the Summary Sheet. No catalogs will be available for sale in the show hall. The show committee accepts no responsibility for catalog errors due to illegibility or mistakes on the entry form.

MISCELLANEOUS: Ring Clerks & Ring Stewards

If you would like to clerk, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet. We will do our best to place clerks with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. (We try, whenever possible, to keep 3-day clerks in the same ring all days, as this makes it much easier to bench clerks near their rings.) Clerks will receive lunch, plus $35, for each full day of clerking. Clerks will be paid after clerking; please do not deduct clerking fees from your entry form. Preference will be given to those in the clerking program.

If you have a child who would like to steward, please indicate this on the Summary Sheet.  We will do our best to place stewards with the judges they request, but can make no guarantees. Stewards who do two rings will work in contiguous rings.  Stewards will receive lunch, plus $20 per ring, for each full day of stewarding.

MISCELLANEOUS: Food and Litter

Cat litter will be provided. Please bring your own cat food, food dishes and litter pans.

There is a concession stand in the show hall, serving basic concession-type fast food.

Additionally, the Seattle Center has an excellent Food Court, serving a wide range of foods and cuisines.  The Food Court is located a short walk (about a city block) south of the Exhibition Hall.

Note: Our contract with the Seattle Center prohibits us from bringing outside food into the Seattle Pavilion, except from the Seattle Center’s Food Court.

MISCELLANEOUS: Liability

Neither The Evergreen Cat Fanciers cat club, TICA, the City of Seattle, nor the Seattle Center will under any circumstances be held liable for injury, loss or damage to cats, exhibitors, property of exhibitors, vendors or other such persons or property in attendance.
